The Museum of Abject Sentimentality
RMIT School of Art Gallery
4 - 12 September 2014
The Museum of Abject Sentimentality examines how contemporary artists use the abject object to explore historical notions of the sublime.
This faux museum investigates the implications of Freidrich Schillers' essay 'On Naïve and Sentimental Poetry' (1795 -1796), in which the author contemplates the interrelation of art, literature and abjection.
